Old Crow Recreation Centre Design
Old Crow, Yukon
Kobayashi + Zedda Architects was retained by the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation to create a design for a community service centre located in Old Crow, Yukon. The centre was designed to replace numerous aging facilities and provide a wide range of services recreational, social and flexible gathering spaces for the community.
The facility is intended to be a key community building. It will create economic opportunities and will provide a multitude of services, including childcare, fitness and recreation, a community kitchen, as well as key community gathering space. Most importantly, it will function as the community’s focal point for the Vuntut Gwitchin life in the north.
