Woodland House

The Woodland Residence is located on a country residential site only a few minutes outside of downtown Whitehorse.  The project was designed and constructed by Kobayashi + Zedda and its arms-length construction arm, 360 Design Build.

The residence consists of two simple forms that intersect at an angle. The lower floor is oriented to integrate with natural conditions of the site. The upper floor is rotated to capture panoramic mountain views, a gesture that also provides for a sheltered carport and entrance.

Inside, the lower floor features guest bedrooms and a gym that can be kept at a cooler temperature. Upstairs, in the main living area of the residence, two living rooms, a kitchen, breakfast nook, office and library encircle an acoustically isolated home theatre. An east-facing master bedroom flows into a walk-in closet and ensuite.

The house features remotely-controlled entertainment systems, lighting, temperature controls and security throughout.
