Defence Construction Canada retained Kobayashi + Zedda Architects to design an all-season, two-storey, 700 m² multi-purpose recreation centre for the Whitehorse Cadet Camp in Mary Lake. The building will host all indoor sporting events and military parades during summer and winter months and will occasionally store military vehicles when necessary. The building also feature meeting space, offices and storage.

The building has been designed around an inexpensive pre-engineered steel building shell yet clad with a highly insulated building envelope using insulated metal panels (IMP). The building features a two-storey, retractable gymnasium curtain that will allow multiple events to be held simultaneously. The building also features generous amounts of natural light.
